1. LOS NORTHERN TIGERS - "SO WHAT"

Born from the ashes of The Sess, Los Northern Tigers come back with a vengeance. "So What" brought a wave of nostalgia to a time when The Sess still played fast and loud. With more music coming from The Sess, "So What" has done a great job of holding me over. I'm currently on the millionth listen.

2. LOS BLENDERS - "CHAVOS BIEN (MARIHUANOS) 420 EDIT"

Los Blenders took a slight detour from their usual spirited surf punk tunes. The "Chavos Bien (Marijuanos) 420 Edit" is a thing of beauty. In essence, it's a feel-good song. It's also catchy. I've listened to in on repeat many times. The original mix to "Chavos Bien" was excellent and they really made this version a thing of its own.

3. ABDU ALI - "I'M ALIVE (HUMANIZED) PROD. JPEGMAFIA"

Abdu Ali is the type of artist that brings a blowtorch to a knife fight. "I'm Alive (Humanized)" is primal, dreamy, sinister, yet I can't pull myself away from it. Abdu Ali sounds like what would happen if Bad Brains fused with Death Grips. The song features Eastern-influenced instrumentation that adds an extra layer of spark.

4. MAKTHAVERSKAN - "ANTABUS"

Makthaverskan may be young but they pack quite a punch. Taking 80's influences and adding their own modern twist, "Antabus" is anthemic, peppy, evocative, and truly confessional. The Swedish post-punk band has made its way onto my most played in a short amount of time.

5. ZHU - "PARADISE AWAITS"

Zhu's "Paradise Awaits" rests on a solid beat, crisp vocals, and an overall sultry vibe. The official video complements the strange, eerie, and sensual atmosphere created by the young producer. So far, he's caught my attention. I can't wait to hear more from him.
